Character is always lost when a high ideal is sacrificed on the altar of
conformity and popularity.
God is more concerned about our character than our comfort. His goal is
not to pamper us physically but to perfect us spiritually.
Great occasions do not make heroes or cowards; they simply unveil them to
the eyes of men.
Responsibility
If you want your children to keep their feet on the ground, put some
responsibility on their shoulders.
Few things help an individual more than to place responsibility upon him,
and to let him know that you trust him.
Christianity
If your christianity doesn't work at home, it doesn't work. Do not export
it.
Christians who move the world are those who do not let the world move them.
Remember the weekday, to keep it holy.
Soul-Winning
When a Christian is winning souls, he isn't messing around with
sin.
Honesty
To make your children capable of honesty is the beginning of education.
A lie is the refuge of weakness. The man of courage is not afraid of the
truth.
Integrity
If a man's associates find him guilty of phoniness, if they find that he
lacks forthright integrity, he will fail...The first great need,
therefore, is integrity and high purpose.
People judge you by your actions, not your intentions.
Wisdom
Scholars are a dime a dozen, but a man of wisdom is a rare bird.
Committing a great truth to memory is admirable; committing it to life is
wisdom.
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments; For
length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not
mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon
the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding
in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and
lean not unto thine own understanding.
