George Washington visits F.C.A. kids!

The large number of people seated inside the Old Chapel's Sanctuary listened intently as General Washington spoke of the events which united our forefathers against British rule.

Washington's voice resounded throughout the rafters. His words dispelled the myths so often cited as the precedents that led to the drafting of the Declaration of Independence.

Those assembled learned it was neither the issue of taxation nor representation, but preservation of religious liberty which inflamed the ambers of independence within the hearts of our forefathers.

Following the presentation, ten-year-old Seth Stanton commented, "Mr. Roy taught me more about persecuted Christians who came to America than I have learned anywhere else."

Jay Wood, father of three home schooled children, likewise remarked, "I learned more through this presentation about the establishment of the colonies than I learned from all my previous schooling...all history should be taught this way!"

Mr. William Roy's dramatic portrayal of George Washington vividly illustrated how men and women, submitted to God and empowered by His Spirit, can prevail in the midst of dire circumstances.

On the third week of February, over twelve hundred of our home schooling kids met George Washington, who made several stops at all of FCA's bookstores in Tennessee, Florida and Colorado.

Last year, Mr. Roy, brought to life Christopher Columbus' adventures as he sailed the high seas to America.

Along the way, the kids met Crusaders, Priests, Kings and Indians, arrayed in all their costumes. This time, it was Gen. George Washington who introduced us to those who fled to the new world from persecution. We met the Dutch, the Quakers, and many more.

Mr. Roy's diligent research into original documents has help him discover the actual intent, motives, and faith of the personalities he portrays.

His unique presentation techniques invite the imagination of the children, and allows them to become the characters in the stories. This hands-on experience leaves them with a deeper impression of the lives of these historical men, than reading third, and fourth person accounts do.

We hope you and your family were able to witness this event and we welcome you, and your friends again next year when Mr. Roy returns with more of his presentations.

Family Christian Academy is proud to present such quality performances for our kids. Watch our upcoming events calendar for Mr. Roy's future presentations.
