I have been attending church for seven months
now. What initially brought us into church was the wonderful Homebuilders
program that we were required to attend, in order for my daughter to home
school.
She is 16 years old, and had been giving me many problems while attending
public schools. For a year, I had been searching for an answer to this
situation. Having been brought up in church all her life, she knew right
from wrong, but still persisted in disobeying my rules, especially when I
was not present. I am a single mom and have a full time job. During the
times I was at work, my daughter had a lot of free time on her hands. Many
times I would come home to find her gone, not knowing where she was, or
whom she was with. She was fully aware that this was against my house
rules.
The day came that I could not take her disobedience and her lying anymore.
I gave her an alternative. She could either go to Juvenile court, or be
home schooled. She chose to be home schooled. That day was the turning
point of her life, and our relationship. While attending the second
Homebuilders class, she accepted Jesus Christ in her heart, and has never
been the same child since. Helping her become a born-again Christian, and
getting her away from the public schools and the influences that were
leading her down the wrong path, is the biggest attribute of this program.
With what I know now, I would not hesitate to do the Homebuilders Program
again. In fact, I only wish I had done it sooner.
The women at FCA told me that I would see a change in my daughter, but I
didn't believe it at first. They told me that she and I would became
closer. I felt this was only a dream, and far from becoming reality. To my
surprise, seven months later, there is now a tremendous difference in her
life and attitude. Living with her is so much easier now.
I have to say that I have been changed by all of this too. I owe a lot to
the persons who put together this great and wonderful school program,
which should be called Hope. That is exactly what it is. The hope that a
lot of parents are looking for, but cannot get in the public school
system. God is so good, he always provides a way for everything. Through
Family Christian Academy, God has made a way for us to come to His side
again with this outstanding alternative. It's a lifesaver!
My name is David, and I am part of the Homebuilder family now. Before, I
was a member of a street gang, where I sold drugs, and used them too. I
was involved in shootings and many other evil things. I got kicked out of
public school because I was so bad.
Recently, I came to FCA's Homebuilders Program, where everybody is taught
that the impossible, even for someone like myself, is possible through
Jesus Christ our Lord.
While attending the program's seven step program, I finally saw the light,
that what I was doing was not pleasing to the Lord, or to my family. The
second week of the program, I asked the Lord Jesus to come into my life.
When all else failed, he was the only one I was able to depend on. I went
from being a gang banger and drug pusher to a born again, fresh, new
person, who is now active in my local church.
Now, at seventeen years old, I am a soul winner for Christ and street
preacher. I even have had the opportunity to preach at my own church.
All these things are for the Glory of God. Without him this would have
never been possible. I am a living testimony that God does work miracles.
Praise God!
The Homebuilders' program has been very helpful to our family
in planning our goals together as a spiritual team.
Most importantly, my seventeen year old daughter, Carleen, was saved by
grace! Praise the Lord! She is a good witness at home, as well as where
ever she goes. She gets a blessing every time she attends church. She listens wholeheartedly to the message, then takes it
and applies it to her life, as well as others.
I love my daughter dearly. I am proud and pleased to know she chose God as
the priority in her life, which no one can take away from her.
I am so thankful that I've been given an opportunity to share with others
what the program has done for me.
About a year ago, I was not sure if I was going to Heaven or not. I wanted
to, but had no idea how I was going to get there. No one ever showed me.
When I was ten years old, I realized I needed God in my life, so I was
baptized. But when I went through the Homebuilders program, I was shown
from the bible, that it took more than just being baptized to go to
Heaven. I was taught what the Word of God actually said. I knew I could
not argue with it. It said I was going to hell, therefore I was! I
realized then that I needed to ask Jesus into my heart, so I did. Ever
since that day my life has changed.
Before I was saved, I was wild! My main problems were disobedience, a bad
attitude, and fighting. When I was twelve years old, I started drinking,
had my first boyfriend, and began running away. I basically did whatever I
wanted to do. I stopped drinking when I was fifteen years old and I thank
God that I never did drugs or smoked. I had seen what drugs had done to my
family. I knew they were not the answer. I realized then I was not living
my life right. This program explained to me what God says about the way we
should live.
I'm not ashamed to talk about how I used to be because I want people to
know how much God has changed me. Through Homebuilders I became a member
of a church, where I am continuing to learn the
truth of the word of God. I realize now that Jesus died for me. Therefore,
my life belongs to him. I focus on how I can serve him, and are looking
forward to Jesus coming back! I am glad not to be of the world anymore.
There is nothing in this world that can make me as happy, peaceful,
secure, and loved as the Lord can.
This program has totally changed our family and home. Prior to the attending the program, our family life was lacking a key element-Jesus Christ.
Through Him we have learned that we can find the truth that a family needs
to survive.
For many years, I had followed plain instinct, listening to all the
different opinions of so called experts, that actually do not know a
thing. Now, I am glad to say that I can do all things threw Christ which
strengthens me (Philippians 4:13) and that our family has found the
undisputed truth through the King James Bible, because our Lord says He is
not the author of confusion.
We have learned the morals and values, along with the understanding, that
can help families change, to strengthen their relationships. Also, through
His word, we have seen how to teach, love and put our family on a solid
foundation. It taught us the truth. Through this program, there
was a great awakening for our son David, myself, and my wife. David was in
trouble with the law, gangs and drugs. My wife and I did not know that we
could trust in the Lord, until we heard the truth. Now, we do not question
our salvation. This program was not only an inspiration, but also a hard
awakening for myself. I, as a father, have a lot to learn and change. We
attend, undoubtedly, the best church to learn about what Jesus Christ, our
Lord and Savior, has done for us, and how he wants us to live and enjoy
life. Through an understanding Pastor, the Lord has taught us so many
things. If I was going to put my trust in anything, I would do so in Jesus
Christ only, and keep it in Him forever. I thank God for showing us the
light, where to turn to, and how to learn from his Word.
I recommend anyone to become knowledgeable of the King James Bible, and
our Lord and Savior, trusting him only. Open your heart and lower your
shields, and let loving people not only fellowship with you, but help you
put your family on a solid foundation in your home through the Lord Jesus
Christ.
