Disciplinary Action

President Theodore Roosevelt said, “To educate a child’s mind but not his character is to create a menace to society.” We at FCA agree with this sentiment; and, each FCA teacher endeavors to create the safest and most appropriate environment for learning to occur. We do not believe it is the responsibility of the school to educate a child’s character any more than it is the responsibility of the Church to train it’s youth in spiritual matters. Scripture places this privilege and prerogative on the family.

Most families who show an interest in FCA are Christians who understand that it is their responsibility to raise Godly children. Therefore, FCA rarely needs to take disciplinary action against a family or student. When a problem arises, it is usually handled between the teacher and students. The primary motive for disciplinary action will be for the class or school activity to return to its normal function as soon as possible. The secondary motive for disciplinary action will be for the individual student to change whatever behavior is required the disciplinary action in the first place.

The following reasons for taking such action include, but are not limited to: improper behavior , incomplete schoolwork, cheating, violation of dress code, bad language, class disruption, bringing forbidden items to school, abuse of tobacco products or drugs, or any other action that would bring reproach to the Lord or the school.

This policy is in effect for students while on or off campus. FCA will not support the enrollment of a family or student that does not adhere to Christian conduct as a lifestyle. The actions of a student off campus acting in an inappropriate manner reflect poorly on the student body and school as a whole. FCA desires to serve parents and students that are serious in their commitment to raise godly child(ren).
