Computers
FCA maintains state-of-the-art computers, peripherals and software. Since families differ as to which computer activities should be allowed for children, some computer related activities which parents might allow at home may not be allowed on school computers. FCA will err on the side of conservative values relating to this issue. Parents should feel free to approach the Administration with questions concerning the use of our computers.
Protocol for use of FCA’s computers is as follows:
Students are allowed access to computers only when an FCA staff member is present, unless other arrangements have been made by the administration.
All computer work must relate to previously-assigned student coursework or special projects assigned by student’s teacher.
Computers may not be used to play games or music, visit websites not assigned to the student by a teacher, or to download pictures or programs not part of the student’s assigned coursework unless under the direct supervision of an FCA staff member.
If a student is finished with the day’s schoolwork, the computers are not to be used for down-time. Student is to use time left in the day to read, or do research for project, essay or assignment.
Students may ask permission to use the computers for personal research that is related to student’s academic studies when given permission by the student’s teacher overseeing computer use.
