On Campus School Home Education Classes

Family Christian Academy’s On-campus classes are designed to help parents with the home-education process. It’s like having the best of both worlds! Your student still has the freedom and flexibility home education provides, plus the added help of a teacher 2-3 days a week.

Home-educated students may attend Monday/Wednesday academic classes (8:30am-4:00pm) and/or Fine Arts classes on Friday (1:00pm-4:00pm) FCA offers K-12th grade students over 60 classes to choose from (see class list below). FCA’ also provides a monthly field trip program, sports programs, events, etc. in which home-educated students may participate.

Elementary & Middle School Students
The K-8th grade schedule is designed to teach core academics such as Bible, Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies in the morning hours. After lunch, students take hands-on, interactive classes such as Art, Computer, Spanish, Enrichment, PE, etc. K-8th grade students complete a lesson of academics while at FCA and follow a class assignment sheet while at home the other three days. Classes are 45 minutes in length. Parents are responsible to monitor and grade students’ progress. The parent is still the primary teacher; FCA’s On Campus Classes are simply the same as allowing your student to be tutored twice a week.

High School Students
FCA offers a wealth of classes for its home-educated high school students. FCA performs the lesson planning, teaching, grading and testing for high school parents. Classes are an hour and a half in length. Basic academics are offered on
Monday and Wednesday. Electives are offered on Friday afternoons (see Fine Arts Friday schedule). Parents of high school students may choose as few as one class (ie. Chemistry) or they may send their student for a full day of classes (Mon. & Wed or Mon., Wed. & Fri.). Costs listed below.

Fine Arts Friday & Extra Curricular Activities
FCA offers a Fine Arts Friday program for K-12th grade students. Fine Arts Friday begins at 1:00pm. Classes offered include: Art, Band, Pottery, Choir, Piano, Computer, Yearbook, Photography, etc. (see list below)

Curriculum
Materials required for all classes are purchased from our bookstore. Parents are responsible for the cost of all materials required to take coursework.
