Graduation Special Touches
› Graduate Memory Movie
This is one of the fabulous, personal highlights of the graduation
ceremony, and said to be the parents’ favorite part! You get
to see your student growing up on the big screen! Parents are asked
to submit up to four pictures of the graduate that will be placed
into a movie format with background music. Pictures are arranged
in chronological order to show precious memories of your graduates
growing up. You choose the pictures; but here are some ideas of
what works well: baby photo, child, teen, etc. you may either let
the graduate be part of the selection process or surprise him or
her with the pictures that you choose. If you would like to see
a previous Memory Movie, you may access it here.
The pictures may be sent with your graduation application; or, please
scan them and send them to the graduation department in electronic
.jpeg format here.
Please clearly mark or label each picture with the graduate’s
name. Pictures will be returned with the graduation packages.
› Family Promotional Letters
Each family participating in the Promotional Ceremony is asked to
submit a letter to FCA giving us information about your particular
family. These words will be read to the audience as your family
walks across the stage to receive their Certificate
of Promotion. Please limit these letters to 50 words or less, and
write them in third person, as they will be read by the Master of
Ceremonies (ie. “Home educating has allowed our family to...”).
This adds a personal touch to the ceremony and
allows others to be encouraged by your family or children.
› K, 8th & Senior Graduation Letters
Graduates (or their parents) are asked to submit a letter to FCA
giving us information about the graduate. These words will be read
to the audience as the graduates walk across the stage to receive
their diplomas. This is the one of the rare times in a child’s
life you are being asked to publicly brag on your child’s
accomplishments. Some of the following questions may help job your
memory as you consider what to have read: “John has enjoyed
being involved in...[sport, academic specialty, etc]”; “After
graduation, John looks forward to [attending college, working with
a company, joining the military]”; “The Bible
verse that has directed John’s life is...[or quote]”.
Please limit these letters to 50 words or less, and write them in
third person as they will be read by the Master of Ceremonies. Kindergarten
graduates generally tell us what their favorite subject is, what
they most like about being home educated, etc. End each letter with
their long-term dreams (ie. “John hopes to eventually become
an astronaut”).
› To Those Who Want to Share Their
Talent
Attention: singers, speech givers, instrumentalists, etc. Many of
you are talented, and we want you to show off to your family and
friends on graduation night. Students are asked to submit a performance
video, and a letter of introduction for your performance. FCA’s
Board of Directors will review all videos for Christian content
and appropriateness. Performances are not to exceed four minutes.
Mail videos to FCA Graduation Deptartment, 487 Myatt Drive, Madison,
TN 37115.
