Home Education Enrollment

ENROLLMENT
FCA offers 2 ways to enroll your children for home education:

1. Enroll Online (click here)

2. Enroll in Person, by Mail, or by Fax (click here to download paperwork!)

ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES

Reenrollment:
• FCA members must enroll every year and should enroll no later than the beginning of the 1st school day in their county of residence.
• Home-educated students must enroll before beginning classes, as FCA can only give attendance credit for registered students.
• Returning students must have satisfied all obligations from the previous school year (particularly filing student progress and attendance reports and paying unpaid fees) in order to reenroll.
• Reenrollment the same year requires a $50.00 same-year reenrollment fee.
• Fill out and submit enrollment forms.
• If home educating (and you live within driving distance of Family Christian Academy), attend Home Education Orientation Seminar

New enrollment:
• Become familiar with the information contained in the Home Education Information and Registration packet.
• Complete all enrollment forms or click here to enroll online.
• FCA will request records from your child’s previous school.
• If student is transferring from another school, the previous school should have all the information FCA is requesting. However, if these items cannot be found by the previous school, we require that the parents furnish this information. FCA assumes that all information submitted is true and accurate and that the family is not under investigation by any legal authority. Application is conditional, pending receipt of the above, and that the information proves to be true and accurate.
• It is important that all materials belonging to the previous school be returned before enrolling with FCA.
• Return your Curriculum List to FCA within 30 days of enrollment.
• If home-educating (and you live within driving distance of Family Christian Academy), attend Home- Education Orientation Seminar

Records needed to enroll:
• Student’s previous school should supply FCA with the information below. Any records the student’s previous school is unable to provide must be provided by the parent.
• Immunization form (green) which is obtained from your doctor or County Health Department. Required only of students with no previous proof of immunization, unless parents wish to provide a statement of religious exemption from immunization.
• Tennessee School Entry Medical Exam form. Applicable to all new students transferring from out of state. This form may be obtained from your doctor or County Health Department.
• Student’s birth certificate.

Records parents must supply FCA:
Curriculum list within 30 days of Enrollment.
Semi-annual FCA Progress and Attendance Reports.

Out-of-state residents:
FCA offers enrollment to home-educating families throughout the world. Use the regular enrollment forms and mail or fax them to our office. Homeschooling laws vary from state to state. Although FCA’s academic and attendance requirements meet or exceed those of most states, it is the responsibility of parents wishing to enroll their students in FCA to become informed regarding the laws of the state in which they reside. FCA is on record as supporting the right of parents to home educate using whatever program they choose.
• Mail or Fax Enrollment forms.
• Include a copy of student’s birth certificate.
• Send Progress & Attendance Reports to FCA, as required.

Students suspended or expelled from previous school:
• FCA’s Home-Education Program, Apprentice Program and FCA Online accepts students who have been suspended or expelled from their previous school only if they purchase (at time of enrollment) and study the course God’s Plan for Man. Read about each of these programs in this packet to determine which program is best suited for your student(s).
• FCA’s On-Campus Program does not accept students who have been suspended or expelled from their previous school until they have proven to the administration that they are able to submit to the policies of the school and are able to do the work assigned.

FCA will not allow immediate enrollment to any family currently undergoing legal scrutiny by the State;
however, FCA will not turn down the application, but will hold it until the legal scrutiny is resolved.
